New details and screenshots for the PlayStation 4 exclusive City Shrouded in Shadow have been released. The new information released by Bandai Namco (translated by Gematsu) includes new giant shadows, gameplay systems, and the latest characters. Game System Overview: Sci-fi Survival Action Adventure
City Shrouded in Shadow is a science-fiction survival action adventure game in which you live through a city flooded with threats of huge monsters and giants.
If, on your way home from school or work today, you suddenly encounter a huge monster destroying the city, or a battle between two giant aliens, how will you react? What would you think? And what actions would you take?
This is the story of such a day that happened upon one young man or woman.
The city is attacked by threats from huge monsters and giants. And at the foot of these huge threats, peoples’ ordinary lives become extraordinary. In a changing city flooded with threts, the protagonist must try to escape with the other citizens trifled by misfortune.
Progressing the Story
The goal of the game is to escape the threat of the “Giant Shadows.” The story begins when you head to the park to go meet up the heroine, Yuki Kouno.
Each stage consists of various Giant Shadows from the participating licenses. While dodging these threats, the hero will progress in order to achieve his objective. The game uses a stage clear system where the next stage is unlocked by clearing the stage before it, and the story progresses in order of those stages. Life or death situations where new Giant Shadows await where the protagonist goes are to be expected. Do what you must to survive them.

The Protagonist’s Basic Actions
During the game, the protagonist will make use of various actions in order the escape the Giant Shadow threat.
Outside of actions like “walk,” “run,” and “crawl,” you can use actions that consume stamina, such as “dash,” “emergency evade,” and “tackle.”
If the protagonist is tired and does not have anymore stamina, you will not be able to dash or emergency evade for a short time, making chances greater that you will take damage. Watching the Giant Shadows’ movements and making skillful use of these actions is a must.

The marine life research team leader, who the protagonist meets on the “Shibazakura” observation ship. She is a prodigy who studied marine life abroad, and at the young age of 20 years old became a university professor. She was disliked how lightly she was treated due to her young age at the university she worked for upon returning home, and is dedicating herself to her work in order to prove them wrong with her true ability. A giant creature-esque shadow appears on the observation ship’s sonar, and she is hoping to confirm its true nature.
Mitsuo Katagiri (voiced by Hozumi Gouda)
City Shrouded in Shadow
The captain of the “Shibazakura” observation ship the protagonist boards. As an honest sailor, he has a wealth of experience. He passed his age of retirement a half year prior, and was supposed to have retired, but captains the Shibazakura with the personality and experience expected. After this sail, he plans to retire. He is operating the Shibazakua for the purpose of marine life research.
Tetsuya Oda (voiced by Kozo Dozaka)
City Shrouded in Shadow
The young deputy captain of the “Shibazakura” observation ship. He is kind, attentive, sociable, and serious. He is in charge of patrol within the ship, as well as plant maintenance. He respects the experienced Captain Katagiri. He is in love with Professor Fukuzawa, who is aboard the ship as a marine life researcher.
